Chronology
A man facing divorce takes his wife and their teenage children on a trip down memory lane. Writer/director Florent Bernard watched a lot of films about parental separation and realized that they were either comedies or dramas, and not much in between. Plus, it was always shown from the parents’ perspective, not from the children’s perspective, so he wanted to address that theme, creating a bittersweet comedy with nostalgia and funny scenes, while fully incorporating the children into the story, who look down at their petals in one shot, rush in front of them, and then suddenly toward their mother, off to the side, in the next shot.
