Eva (Odessa Young), a 19th-century widow, makes an impossible decision when a ship sinks off the coast of her isolated fishing village in the middle of a particularly harsh winter. Eva and her crew must decide whether to save the castaways or survive the winter on their last meal. Faced with the consequences of their choice and racked by guilt, the villagers struggle with mounting fear and begin to believe that they are all being punished for their decisions.
