Chronology
Ingrid and Martha were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. After years of not speaking to each other, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation. When Pedro Almodóvar sent the script to Tilda Swinton, he asked who should play Ingrid.
The story could be good
Featured in The 7PM Project: Episode dated September 8, 2024 (2024). But something is completely wrong with the way the film sounds in terms of dialogue. It feels like someone took a real movie and cut it badly, having to leave only “essential” lines.
The dialogues, therefore, seem sour, sometimes reeking of clichés
More often than not, the scenes lack that entrance that makes the climax viable and striking. Instead, each scene seems to be cut only for its main message. What could have been powerful moments, just navigated like a deck of cards.
The ingredients are right
The actresses’ talents don’t save them. Sometimes it seemed like the script was written in another language and then translated. But the dish tastes bad, unfortunately.
