Media commentator Muncie Daniels must fight for his innocence and his life after stumbling upon a murder deep in the Poconos. Colman Domingo’s first starring role on TV. There are many elements of this series that are well done. But I just found it to be awkward. There were so many things in the writing, directing, and acting that felt awkward. Sometimes awkwardly so. Some of the dialogue felt so unfinished and so unpolished that I found myself shaking my head. It made the relationships in the story feel incomplete and lacking in depth. I feel like I should have felt warm feelings for many of the characters, but I didn’t. I understand techniques to make an audience uncomfortable, but this is different. If it was intentional, it failed in execution. If this is a new style of filmmaking, I hope it passes.
